Vol. 89 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Emergency Restrictions on Companies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (1) the names of the companies to which, under Emergency Powers (No. 83) Order, 1941 (Restriction on Companies) Order, 1941 (Second Amendment) Order, 1943 (S. R. & O., No. 32 of 1943, dated 18/1/1943), Emergency Powers (No. 83) Order, 1941 (Restriction on Companies) Order, 1941 (S. R. & O., No. 196 of 1941) does not now apply; (2) the names of the directors of each such company; and (3) the remuneration paid to them.

The Emergency Powers (No. 83) Order, 1941 (Restrictions on Companies) Order, 1941 (Second Amendment) Order, 1943, provides that the Emergency Powers (No. 83) Order, 1941 (Restrictions on Companies) Order, 1941, shall not apply to any company, incorporated by an Act of the Oireachtas, where the Act incorporating it provides for the method of determining the remuneration of the directors. Apart from the Central Bank, I am not aware of any such company. As regards Parts 2 and 3 of the question, the information asked for by the Deputy was given by the Minister for Finance in reply to a question by Deputy Davin on 4th February (Col. 486, Dáil Debates).
