Vol. 89 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - General Election Arrangements.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that a considerable number of men are likely to be absent from their homes in connection with the turf-cutting campaign when the general election takes place during the next few months and whether, in the circumstances, he will make arrangements to enable them exercise the franchise as absent voters.

The question of postal voting has been receiving consideration, but there are many difficulties in bringing a scheme into operation. I hope to be in a position to make a statement on the subject at an early date.
