Vol. 89 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Income-Tax—Children's Allowances.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider extending the allowances in respect of children under the income-tax code so as to include all dependent children irrespective of age where such children are unemployed.

I shall consider the matter, but while I cannot anticipate what the decision will be, I can hardly—in the present emergency —hold out much hope of relieving income-tax payers by the extension of existing allowances.
