asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether he is aware of the losses caused to poultry producers by reason of the fact that the poultry exporters have become a closed monopoly; and if he will allow buyers from Northern Ireland to buy and export poultry.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Poultry Producers' Losses.
There is not a closed monopoly of poultry exporters in this country, as alleged by the Deputy, and, consequently, the answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. As regards the second part, any person who complies with the statutory regulations and conditions may become a licensed exporter of dead poultry.
