Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Dublin Post Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether any expenditure is set down in the Estimates for the proposed new post office in Saint Andrew Street; what is the expenditure on this project up to latest date; and who is bearing the loss of interest on the sum of money spent up to the present.

A sum of £1,000 is provided in this year's Estimates (Office of Works Vote) for the proposed post office and telephone exchange in St. Andrew Street, Dublin. The amounts expended to date (excluding a fine of £5,200 on acquisition) total £2,756 by the Post Office and £540 by the Office of Works. This expenditure was borne out of voted money and no interest is payable thereon.
