Vol. 89 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Relief Schemes.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total amount allocated for (a) the making and repair of bog roads, (b) all other relief schemes for the year ended 31st March, 1943, and (c) the respective amounts expended on each during the year in the Counties of (1) Tipperary, North Riding, and (2) Tipperary, South Riding.

The total amount of State grants allocated in the financial year 1942-43 for the schemes referred to were:—

Tipperary North

Tipperary South

£

£

(a) Making and repair of bog roads

2,075

1,407

(b) All other relief schemes

2,583

9,375

Total

4,658

10,782

The segregation of the returns of the actual amounts expended under the above heads would occasion some difficulty as the grants are classified on a different basis, and in any case the final returns of expenditure will not be available for some time.
