Vol. 89 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Refund of Mayo Lorry Owners' Road Tax.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that lorry owners in the scheduled area of North Mayo have been refused a refund of road tax covering the period from 6/12/'42 to 31/12/'42; and if he will take steps to have this injustice remedied.

Where the use of a motor lorry is permitted in any portion of a period for which it has been licensed a refund of motor licence duty is not made in respect of any unexpired portion of the period which is less than a month. The position has been under further examination, however, in conjunction with the Department of Finance.
