Vol. 89 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Tipperary Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he has yet received a report from the land courts, which sat in Thurles over two years ago, in connection with the Power Lawlor, estate; and if he is aware of the hardship caused to the people in the village of Templetuohy who had an access to those lands before they were purchased privately by the present occupiers; and if he will see to the immediate taking over of those lands for division amongst those deserving applicants.

In reply to his previous question of 3rd February last, the Deputy was informed that the Land Commission required further information before reaching a decision on the question of requiring the lands of Longorchard, which include the Power Lawlor estate. This information (which involves a draft scheme of division) has not yet been obtained and the Land Commission are not yet in a position to proceed further in the matter.
