Vol. 89 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Permit for Motor Lorry.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware that Mr. Martin Fahey, Lavellrae, Cloonfad, Ballyhaunis, made application to his Department for a permit for his lorry (No. IZ-4028) for the conveyance of turf for the Roscommon County Council from bogs to railway stations; and if he will state the cause of the delay in issuing such permit.

An application was received from Mr. Martin Fahey, Lavellrae, Cloonfad, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, for a permit for the use for his lorry on turf haulage for Roscommon County Council. Mr. Fahey's permit had, consequent on the reorganisation of motor transport in Mayo because of petrol restrictions, been previously withdrawn. In present circumstances it is not possible to grant his application.
