Vol. 90 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tractor Fuel Supply.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware that some large farmers are holding working horses over and above their requirements because of the uncertainty of the tractor fuel position and if, in order to secure the sale and utilisation of those animals for further production, he will say whether he can give any assurance regarding reserves or supply of tractor fuel for the harvest and the autumn work.

I have no information as to the extent to which farmers are holding working horses over and above their requirements owing to the uncertainty of the tractor fuel position. Provided expected supplies arrive, it is anticipated that sufficient tractor fuel will be available for harvest and autumn work.
