Vol. 90 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Voting Facilities for Turf Workers.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he intends to make any arrangements whereby workers in turf camps far away from the constituencies in which they have votes will be given an opportunity of exercising the franchise either by registered post or otherwise.

This matter has been very fully examined. Legislation would be necessary for the setting up of a special register of turf workers and it has not been found practicable in the time available to give effect to any satisfactory scheme for postal voting by turf workers.
