Vol. 90 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Potato Allocation for Dublin.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state what steps are being taken to ensure a proportionate allocation of potatoes to Dublin retailers who formerly were not regular customers of any wholesaler, but bought direct from the country; and if he will consider the desirability of giving such retailers representation on the Dublin Potatoes Marketing Board.

The Dublin and District Potato Committee was requested to give special consideration to the cases mentioned by the Deputy, and I am informed that arrangements have been made by the committee for an allocation on an equitable basis of potatoes to the persons concerned. I do not consider it necessary that such persons should have special representation on the committee.
