Vol. 90 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment at Kildare Waterworks.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if an inspector from his Department has visited and reported on conditions of employment at the pump house and waterworks at Kildare; if so, if he will state whether any breaches of the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936, were found and what action has since been taken in the matter; if not, if he will cause an inspection to be carried out at an early date.

The pumping station at Kildare was visited by an industrial inspector of my Department on the 26th June, 1942; 13th July, 1942, and 18th March, 1943.

Certain irregularities under the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936, were discovered and brought to the notice of the secretary, Kildare Board of Health, who, in a letter dated 6th ultimo, gave an assurance that these irregularities have been remedied.
