Vol. 91 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payment of Bonus to Maternity Nurses.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is prepared to authorise the payment of a bonus by local authorities to maternity nurses employed by local authorities on the same scale as that being paid to officials of the vocational education committees, county committees of agriculture and other committees under local authorities.

Dispensary midwives are part-time officers of local authorities. In the case of part-time officers the rate of emergency bonus is lower than the appropriate rate allowed to whole-time officers of local authorities, vocational education committees or committees of agriculture.
