Vol. 92 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare Road Workers' Wages.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he has received a resolution from the Kildare County Council requesting sanction for an increase of 10/- per week for road workers in County Kildare; and, if so, whether he now proposes to sanction the increase.

The resolution of the Kildare County Council, a copy of which I received, does not purport to request sanction to an increase of 10/- a week for road workers, but requests the county manager to recommend an increase of 10/- in the cases of gangers, foremen, engine drivers, carters and all other employees working on roads or bogs in the county. No recommendation has been received from the county manager.
