Vol. 92 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the position of the Coffey Estate, Ellistown, County Kildare; whether it will be allotted to successful applicants at an early date; and, if not, for what reason it is held by the Land Commission.

The Coffey estate in question as acquired comprised an area of 422 acres 1 rood 23 perches, of which 246 acres 0 roods 30 perches has been allotted, leaving 176 acres 0 roods 33 perhaps still on the hands of the Land Commission. Final arrangements for the disposal of the area on hands have not yet been completed and it is not yet possible to state when the lands will be allotted.

Could the Minister indicate when it will be possible for the Land Commission to deal with this estate? Will it be left until after the emergency, or will it be dealt with soon?

I could not answer that question at the moment.
