Vol. 92 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Utilisation of Country Mansions.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will arrange to hand over mansions and large houses of divided lands to organisations such as An Óige, Irish Tourist Board, Youth Training Body, etc., instead of permitting them to fall into decay, or be demolished, as often happens.

Residences on lands acquired by the Land Commission for division which are not suitable for disposal to allottees may be demolished in order to provide material for building smaller houses for allottees or may be sold by public auction, at which it is open for such bodies as the Deputy mentions to bid for them.
