Vol. 92 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Connaught Rangers Mutiny—Memorial.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Office of Public Works will provide a site for the erection of a memorial stone to the memory of James J. Daly, of the Connaught Rangers Mutiny, who was executed in Dagshia Prison, India, on 2nd November, 1920.

An application for a site for the erection of a memorial, which would take the form of a stone on which is inscribed the incident of the mutiny and the names of those who were killed or executed, has already been received from the Connaught Rangers Mutineers' Association, who have been informed that consideration of the application must be deferred until the end of the present period of emergency.

Arising out of the Minister's reply, is it not possible for the Board of Works to provide a site for the memorial until after the emergency?
