Vol. 92 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Monaghan Nursing Staff—Wage Adjustments.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether his sanction has been asked by the local government authority in County Monaghan for wage adjustments in regard to the nursing staff of the County Hospital; and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter.

On 22nd November last I received an application from the Monaghan County Council for sanction to the fixing of a salary scale of £70 rising by annual increments of £5 to £90 a year for nurses on the permanent staff of the County Hospital, and to the payment of a salary of £90 a year to temporary nurses other than casual nurses. Sanction to the application was conveyed to the local authority on the 18th January last.
