Vol. 92 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Petrol Priming Allowance.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is prepared to increase the priming allowance of petrol for motor lorries fitted with gas-producer plants, and thus encourage private lorry owners to equip their vehicles with these plants so as to build up a fleet of vehicles capable of dealing with transport requirements should petrol supplies be further curtailed.

Proposals have been made by the Society of Irish Motor Traders and the Merchant Lorry Owners' Association for an increase in the priming allowance in respect of commercial goods vehicles operating on producer gas plants which are at present under consideration.
