Vol. 92 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk Supply to Arranmore.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether any representations have been made to him about a scarcity of milk in Arranmore Island, in County Donegal; and, if so, whether he will arrange to have additional supplies of condensed milk sent to this area until the special circumstances obtaining there have passed.

No representations have been received by me as to a scarcity of liquid milk in Arranmore Island. If such scarcity exists, supplies of condensed milk or of dried milk are obtainable.

Has the Minister not been informed that the island bull went out of commission for six months, with a resulting crisis in the six months ensuing, and that there is very little or no milk on Arranmore? The situation there is desperate, for want of milk. If the Minister has not heard that, will he cause inquiries to be made and, if my representations prove to be correct, will he arrange to have supplies of condensed milk sent there?

That information has not reached me yet.

Will the Minister make inquiries?

With regard to the health of the bull?
