Vol. 92 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage Survey.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state if the necessary preliminary survey recommended in paragraph 330 of the Drainage Commission Report, 1938-1940, has been carried out in any catchment area; and, if so, where, and the extent and cost of such survey.

Survey work on the Brosna catchment area, involving 600 miles of drainage channels, and covering 300,000 acres in Counties Laoighis, Offaly and Westmeath, has been in progress for the past 12 months. The expenditure to date is approximately £9,000.
