Vol. 93 No. 3

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fire Brigade Men's Dependents.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware of the need for provisions to ensure that in the event of fire brigade men being killed during the course of their duties their widows and dependents will receive adequate pensions, and if he will introduce legislation for that purpose.

As I stated in reply to a question on 2nd December last, the preparation of a general superanuation measure for officers and employees of local authorities which had been postponed owing to the pressure of emergency work which fell upon my Department is being resumed, but I cannot indicate any particular provisions thereof at this stage.
