Vol. 93 No. 5

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospital Accommodation in Birr.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether any representations have been made to him in connection with the provision of suitable hospital accommodation in South Offaly, at Birr, since his reply to question on 27th October, 1943; and whether he will now take steps to see that something is done in this matter in response to the demand of the rate-payers of South Offaly, who have no convenient hospital.

So far as the provision of a new hospital is concerned the reply is in the negative. Proposals for carrying out certain repairs to the present district hospital at a cost of between £2,000 and £3,000 were submitted by the county manager at the end of January and these are being approved.
