Vol. 93 No. 5

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Re-weighing of Lorries.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (1) the number of G.S.R. lorries called in for re-weighing during the past 12 months; (2) the number of lorries other than G.S.R. lorries called in by the Gárda in the Cork area during the same period, and (3) the reason for such action in present circumstances.

I am informed that no G.S.R. lorries were called in for re-weighing during the past 12 months. The total number of lorries other than G.S.R. lorries called in by the Gárdaí in the Cork area during the same period was ten.

Lorries are called in by the Gárdaí for re-weighing in the ordinary exercise of their duties.
