Vol. 93 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Improvements at Caherciveen.

Mr. Lynch

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will make available for the Kerry County Council a grant towards the improvements required at High Street and Old Road, Caherciveen, since apparently the council is not prepared or is unable to find the total sum required for the purpose.

The reason advanced would not in itself warrant the cost of the improvements being met out of State funds. Grants for the carrying out of employment schemes in areas where unemployment exists will be made in due course, and if the circumstances justify the inclusion of either of the works in Caherciveen in the programme of employment schemes in Kerry County to be submitted later in the present year the matter will be considered.
