Vol. 93 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sulphate of Copper.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state (1) the stocks of sulphate of copper on hands by wholesale merchants on March 1st, 1944; (2) the likely quantity to be imported before May 1st, 1944, and (3) how this position compares with that obtaining on May 1st, 1943.

The position regarding supplies of sulphate of copper is approximately the same as it was last year and it is estimated that they will be sufficient to meet requirements.

I am not in a position to give the information requested. Only one firm is engaged in importing sulphate of copper and it would be contrary to practice to publish particulars relating to the business of any individual firm. Furthermore, as the Deputy is aware, only the total value of imports is at present being published.
