Vol. 93 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rubber Boots for Fishermen.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will endeavour to have an arrangement made for some supply of rubber boots to bona fide fishermen.

Due to the acute shortage of rubber, the manufacture of industrial rubber boots in this country has been suspended for a considerable time past. A very small stock of these boots is, however, held and is reserved to meet the needs of essential industrial users for whom rubber boots are vitally necessary. In view of the very limited supplies available, it is not possible to arrange for the issue of any quantity of these boots to fishermen.
