Vol. 94 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Poulaphouca Scheme.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the estimated cost of the Poulaphouca scheme, and if this amount is to be met, in whole or part, by further advance of capital by the State.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given on this subject to a similar question on the 16th December, 1943. The entire capital cost of the scheme has been and will be met by advances from the State under the Electricity (Supply) Acts, except to the extent of the agreed contribution from the Dublin Corporation.

Where will I get the agreed figure of the contribution from the Dublin Corporation? Is that published?

Yes; it was contained in the Act which authorises the construction of the work.

But the final figures will be quite different from the original estimate.

That does not alter the agreed contribution from the Dublin Corporation.
