Vol. 94 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Military Service Pension Applications.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider introducing legislation to enable him to accept late applications from widows and orphans of officers, N.C.O.'s and men of the Volunteer and Defence Forces who served 1916 to 1923, having regard to the conditions of poverty which obtain in a large number of cases.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply of the 12th instant on this subject. I do not propose to introduce legislation to extend the time limit prescribed by the Army Pensions Acts for making application in the types of cases mentioned by the Deputy.
