Vol. 94 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Carrickmacross Clinic.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if it is proposed to proceed with the erection of a public health clinic in Carrickmacross this year.

The reply is in the affirmative. Plans and specifications of the proposed work were returned to the county manager on 29th April for amendment in accordance with suggestions made by the Department's engineering advisers. They were received back in the Department on the 10th instant and are being further examined. If they are found to be in order bills of quantities will have to be prepared by the quantity surveyor, whose appointment for the work has been approved, before tenders can be invited by the local authority. The Deputy will realise that owing to shortage of building materials at the present time and to the suspension of cement production it is not possible to give any indication as to when the erection of the clinic will be started.
