Vol. 95 No. 8

Ceisteanna. — Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerosene Ration.

asked the Minister for Supplies whether he is aware that up to Monday, November 6th, a number of householders in certain districts in West Cork had not received their kerosene ration for the month of October, and if he will endeavour to have punctual deliveries of the monthly ration made in future during the first days of each month.

This is a similar reply.

In the absence of particulars of the householders to whom the Deputy refers and of the retailers with whom they are registered as kerosene customers, I am not in a position to state the reason why the kerosene ration for October was not received by them.

I am aware that, owing to transport difficulties, delay has been experienced in the delivery of oil to some areas. Every effort is, however, being made by my Department, in consultation with the oil distributing companies, to expedite delivery of kerosene so as to ensure the timely receipt of his ration by each householder.
