Vol. 95 No. 8

Ceisteanna. — Questions. Oral Answers. - Tinnahoe Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Lands if he has received repeated representations from the Laoighls County Board of Health concerning a proposal for the purchase of a small portion of land and a pump situated on the Webber estate at Tinnahoe, County Laoighis; whether he is aware that this is the only suitable water supply available in the area for over 30 families and whether he will now sanction this proposal and state the reason for the delay in doing so.

Representations have been received from the Laoighis County Council concerning a proposal for the purchase of a small portion of land, the site of a pump, stated to be situated on the Webber estate. After careful investigation and the study of various estate maps, the Land Commission are satisfied that the portion of the land containing the pump is not included either in the tenanted land estate of Colonel Webber, Record No. S.6701, or in the untenanted land estate acquired from Colonel Webber, Record No. S.5585, and, therefore, the Land Commission do not appear to have any jurisdiction in the matter. The Laoighis County Council have been so informed.
