Vol. 95 No. 12

Committee on Finance. - Vote No. 43—Dundrum Asylum.

I move:—

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £632 be granted to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending 31st March, 1945, for the Expenses of the Maintenance of Criminal Lunatics in the Dundrum Asylum (8 & 9 Vict., c. 107).

Under this Supplementary Estimate, an additional sum of £345 is required to meet the increase in the cost-of-living bonus and an additional £286 is required to meet the cost of victualling the patients owing to the increased price of food. A further £170 is required to meet the increased cost of clothing for patients and to provide uniform for attendants. It is anticipated that there will be a saving on travelling and incidentals, telegrams and telephones, of £44 and there will be an increase in the Appropriations-in-Aid of £169, due chiefly to the increase in the value of the produce disposed of to the asylum.

Question put and agreed to.
