Vol. 96 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Return Tickets on Railways.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that the final report of the Great Southern Railways Company, recently issued, shows a substantial increase in receipts as compared with returns for 1942 and 1943; and, in view of the continued improvement in the financial position of the railways, if he will make representations to the company to issue "return tickets" at the usual rates to those railway passengers who apply for such tickets in future.

The issue of return tickets to railway passengers implies a reasonable prospect of accommodation on the return journey. When the supply position permits of the resumption of normal services Córas Iompair Eireann will doubtless consider the restoration of this facility.
