Vol. 96 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hens and Rabbits—Export Levies.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the amount of money realised from the levy on exports of (a) hens, and (b) rabbits, during the 12 months ended 31 December, 1944, and if he will state what is the estimated yield of such levies on these exports during the present year.

The amount realised by deduction from the export value of hens during the year 1944 was approximately £52,000. No deduction was made from the export value of rabbits. It is estimated that if the deduction from the export value of hens now being made is maintained during 1945 at the present rate, a sum of approximately £80,000 will be realised.
