Vol. 96 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tea and Sugar for Slaney Fishermen.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state if a special ration of tea and sugar will be available during the coming season for men engaged in net fishing on the River Slaney.

For the reasons given in reply to a question asked by the Deputy on the 9th May, 1944, it is not proposed to make any special allowances of tea and sugar available to the men in question.

Mr. Corish

Is the Minister aware that allowances of extra tea and sugar were given in the year before last and will the Minister state why there is a change? Is the Minister also aware that these fishermen are away from home from early morning till late at night and, in these circumstances, will he reconsider his decision?

There is no change in the regulations this year as compared to last year.
