Vol. 96 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clerical Officers of Local Authorities.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state if any proposals have been made, or are under consideration by his Department, to standardise the rates of pay for clerical officers of local authorities.

Standard scales of salaries for the clerical classes employed in the counties were suggested by my Department to local authorities. They are in operation in many areas. Their adoption is primarily a matter for the local authority.
