Vol. 96 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Resigned and Dismissed R.I.C. Men.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the number of resigned and dismissed R.I.C. men now in receipt of pensions, indicating the number appropriate to each grade of pension; and if, in view of the increases in pensions granted recently by the British Government to R.I.C. men who remained in the British service, he will now reconsider the position and vary the rate of pension payable to men who resigned or were dismissed so as to place them in a position of equality with those who continued in the British service.

The information asked for in the first part of the Deputy's question is as follows:—

As regards the second part of the question I would refer the Deputy to the reply given by me to Deputy Giles on the 7th February last.
