Vol. 96 No. 24

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal of Air-Raid Shelters.

asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defensive Measures if he is aware that considerable inconvenience is caused in the cities and provincial towns as a result of the existence of air-raid shelters on the streets; and, if so, if he will state if he will have those obstructions removed at an early date, as the necessity for them appears to exist no longer.

asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defensive Measures if he will state when it is proposed to remove the air-raid shelters from the Dublin streets.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 7 and 8 together.

I am aware that considerable inconvenience is caused by the existence of surface air raid shelters on the streets and they will be removed in all our cities and towns the moment the Government is satisfied that conditions warrant.

Will the Minister say when that consideration will arise, as they are causing inconvenience?

I cannot add anything to the answer I have given.
