Vol. 97 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Petrol for Boat Owners.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will consider releasing some supplies of petrol during the summer season to (1) boat owners at resorts like Glengarriff, West Cork, who depend on the tourist traffic for their living; (2) owners of sailing yachts with auxiliary motors, which have now deteriorated seriously through lack of use, and (3) general owners of small pleasure motor boats.

There has been no improvement in the position regarding supplies of petrol available for distribution and it is not, therefore, possible to consider the granting of allowances for boat owners catering for tourist resorts or for sailing yachts with auxiliary motors or for pleasure boats generally.
