Vol. 97 No. 12

Juries Bill, 1945—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Juries Act, 1927—(Minister for Justice).

When is it proposed to take the Second Stage?

Mr. Boland

This is a very simple Bill. I wonder could we take it to-morrow? It is consequential on the Electoral Bill. The Bill will be circulated this evening. I do not think Deputies will object to taking it.

Does the Minister mean to take all stages to-morrow?

Mr. Boland

The Second Stage. There is nothing in it.

What does the Minister mean when he says we will get the Bill to-night?

Mr. Boland

It will be circulated immediately. I will leave it in the House. It was to be introduced before the Dáil adjourned but the three weeks' adjournment caused a delay.

Do I understand that if the Second Stage is taken to-morrow, it is not the Minister's intention to proceed with it in Committee until the following week?

Mr. Boland

If the House does not want to take it, certainly.

Second Stage ordered for Thursday, 21st June, 1945.
