Vol. 97 No. 17

Johnstown Castle Agricultural College Bill, 1945—First Stage.

I move for leave to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to accept the gift of the Johnstown Castle Estate to the nation as a lay Agricultural College, to authorise the doing of all acts necessary for the completion of the gift and the carrying out of the terms thereof, and to provide for certain other matters connected with the matters aforesaid.

Leave granted.

When is it proposed to take the Second Stage?

On Friday.

Does the Minister expect to get this Bill before the Recess?

I think it is a shame to be introducing Bills of this sort at this stage.

The Deputy should wait until he sees the Bill.

Second Stage ordered for Friday, 6th July.
