Vol. 98 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business as on the Order Paper, Nos. 1 to 5, inclusive.

If the Tánaiste will wait until we get order on the other side of the House. He may proceed.

It is proposed to take business as on the Order Paper, Nos. 1 to 5, then No. 7. If the public business ordered should finish before 7.30, Private Deputies' Business will be taken. In Private Deputies' Business, the debate will be on Motion No. 1, list 7.

May I ask if Government time will be given either this week or next week for consideration of Motion No. 16 — to annul emergency regulations?

I will have it considered.

People are suffering penalties at the moment under that Order.

The request was not brought to my attention before. I will have the question discussed.

May I ask the Tánaiste whether, in the event of there being not sufficient Government business to keep the House in regular session, an effort will be made by the Government to provide for discussion of the large number of private motions which have been on the Order Paper for some time?

I think a give-and-take arrangement will be practicable under which time may be given for Private Deputies Business now which will be absorbed for public business later.

Private Deputies' Business, of course, will be taken at 7.30.

Earlier, if we have concluded on No. 5.
