Vol. 98 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Postal Sorting Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state when it is anticipated that tenders for the erection of the new Central Sorting and Delivery Office at Pearse Street, Dublin, will be invited.

The plans of the new Central Sorting Office at Pearse Street, Dublin, will not be ready for some time, but tenders will be invited sufficiently early to have the work undertaken in accordance with its position in the programme as drawn up by the Department of Industry and Commerce regulating building and construction works.

Like his predecessor, would the Minister hazard a guess as to when it will be completed?

It may be commenced in about three years' time.

It may be commenced? After that, we hardly need a Minister for Posts and Telegraphs.
