asked the Minister for Education whether, having regard to the decision to provide for the payment of increased bonus related to the present cost of living to persons affected by Emergency Powers Order No. 260, he is now prepared to sanction the payment of corresponding increases to teachers in the lower income groups; and, if so, whether he will say if such sanction will be notified without delay.

No decision having been come to in regard to the question of granting an increase of emergency bonus to public servants generally, similar to the increases allowable under the contemplated new Order, I am not in a position to say that such an increase will be made applicable to teachers.
