Vol. 99 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Child Immigration.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state the number of French and Polish children who have come to this country recently; also the number and nationality of any other such children.

The number of French children who have come to this country recently under arrangements made by the Irish Red Cross Society is 100.

No Polish refugee children have so far arrived in Ireland, but there has been constant effort on our part to secure that a number of such children might be sent here, and it is hoped that arrangements to that end may soon be completed.

No group of refugee children of any other nationality is at present in Ireland.
