Vol. 99 No. 14

Defence Forces (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1946—Leave to Introduce.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Defence Forces (Temporary Provisions) Acts, 1923 to 1945, and to restrict the wearing in the State of certain foreign uniforms. —(Minister for Defence).
Second Stage ordered for Wednesday, 6th March, 1946.

Does this Bill contain much more than the ordinary annual Army Bill?

It does, a little more than usual, a few sections more. I am having a White Paper circulated with it.

When will the Bill be circulated?

I hope to have it circulated by the end of the week.

The Second Stage is to be taken next week, but we are not to get the Bill until the end of the week?

If we do not get it until Monday, Wednesday is a bit soon for the Second Reading.

The Second Stage is fixed provisionally for next Wednesday.

It will not be taken on Wednesday but must be passed within a certain time.
