Vol. 99 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fermoy Pension Claim.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the reasons why a claim for a military service pension, made by Denis Hickey, Ballyadeen, Castletownroche, Fermoy, County Cork, was refused; and whether he is now in a position to have this man's application for a pension reconsidered.

The application by Mr. Denis Hickey, Ballyadeen, Castletownroche, Fermoy, County Cork, for a service certificate was refused for the reason that the Referee reported that Mr. Hickey was not a person to whom the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934, applied. Mr. Hickey has recently submitted through his solicitor further evidence in support of his application, together with a request for reconsideration of his case. The evidence is now being examined, and I hope to reach a decision within the next week.
