Vol. 100 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dismantling of Mine.

asked the Minister for Justice whether, in view of the gallantry displayed on a recent occasion by Captain P. McCourt, Army Ordnance Corps, who entered a rough sea at Howth, County Dublin, and removed the fuse from a floating mine which might have caused much loss of life, he considers this officer worthy of public recognition; and, if so, if he will recommend Captain McCourt to the awards committee for a suitable award.

I am arranging for the Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána to furnish my Department with particulars of the case referred to by the Deputy. The particulars will, in due course, be brought to the notice of the committee which has been appointed to consider such cases.
